We Gotta New Link

"Technology is wonderful." Is that statement true? Pretty much.

"Technology is perfect." Errr! Dead wrong.

I had issues with my other blog and so had to create a whole "new" one. When I say "new" one, I mean I transferred everything from the old blog to this. Really it is just a new link (and "new" blog) while the old rots away in cyberspace. Posts previous to this may look a little funny with 2 posted dates and titles, but really that was just the transfer. Needless to say I'm ready to get back to processing thoughts through blogger once again.

Happy to be writing again and having you follow!

I guess issues with things...like the internet are...

Jesus Friend of Sinners

Jesus, friend of sinners, we have strayed so far away
We cut down people in your name but the sword was never ours to swing
Jesus, friend of sinners, the truth's become so hard to see
The world is on their way to You but they're tripping over me
Always looking around but never looking up I'm so double minded
A plank eyed saint with dirty hands and a heart divided

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to the world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

Jesus, friend of sinners, the one who's writing in the sand
Made the righteous turn away and the stones fall from their hands
Help us to remember we are all the least of these
Let the memory of Your mercy bring Your people to their knees
Nobody knows what we're for only what we're against when we judge the wounded
What if we put down our signs crossed over the lines and loved like You did

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks yours

You love every lost cause; you reach for the outcast
For the leper and the lame; they're the reason that You came
Lord I was that lost cause and I was the outcast
But you died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

'Cause You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever
You are good, You are good and Your love endures forever

Oh Jesus, friend of sinners
Open our eyes to world at the end of our pointing fingers
Let our hearts be led by mercy
Help us reach with open hearts and open doors
Oh Jesus, friend of sinners, break our hearts for what breaks Yours

And I was the lost cause and I was the outcast
Yeah...
You died for sinners just like me, a grateful leper at Your feet

God IS Good

God IS Good

Definition of "GOOD": to be desired; righteous, virtuous, excellent, high quality, kind...

God IS good. God IS good. Dwell and ponder on these three very simple words for a brief moment. Do you believe it, really believe it?

Recently (actually just last night) I met up with several friends from college. This was a huge deal since we've been on summer break for about a month now, meaning it's been a while since seeing each other. That night was filled with laughter, joy, hugs, conversation, food, games... Of the many conversations I had God laid out a common point in every single one of them."I AM good. I GIVE good things."

In midst of my own life the last month since starting summer break after finishing my freshman year in college its been like a roller coaster. And I'm not the only one, with friends sharing their life during this point reflecting similar feelings. A friend in particular reminded me in the process of sharing about her summer that , "God is good and everything good comes from Him."

I started to think about that. Of course I "KNEW" it, but did I believe it? It's hard to see the truth that God is good and He gives good things when your life seems like a bowl of chaos and you start talking to friends in depth that you've missed the last few weeks to hear that they have had days or the last weeks less than desirable and far from peachy.

As God started to shift my heart and pull it back into the perspective of Him, I was reminded that my God IS good. He IS good. He IS good. I am underserving of God, I'm underserving of anything good, any of the good gifts from Him. And yet here I stand in a sea, in a field of everything good. Life isn't always rosy. In fact there are some pretty dry spells, hard questions, strained relationships, mixed emotions to say the least. But those things are the rain that fills and makes the power of our sea or waters our field.

I could go on, but I'm sure I've already confused you enough. These are just my thoughts spinning at lightening speed. Pray and seek out what God is trying to reveal to you through this. I'd love to hear back about your thoughts! This is just the truth I felt like God poured on me, and it was time for me to pass it on to you. When things are hard or you feel lonely remember that God IS good and He gives goodThat's remarkable because we don't deserve it at all. So to know that we have the chance to grasp God's goodness through Jesus is the first step is seeing the goodness.

We SERVE a mighty and gracious God.

Lesson In Everything

Lesson In Everything

Today's spectacular events?
1)~~~~Learning to drive a stick shift in a snazzy red JEEP.
2)~~~~Got another day in the saddle, plus rode a new mule.
3)~~~~Helped some kiddos with the 4-H Horse Projects.

All this said... I've been thinking about life, especially the last year being a Freshman in college. There are things I love about my small town and things that make me happy to have another community at college. But today, God showed me through those 3 main events some key things. 1) Be ready to try something new, learn and be ready to ask questions. That was all from driving a stick, something I was terrified of. 2) Do what you're good at and enjoy. It's the small stuff that add up to make big memories. Expand on what you are good at, to alway improve. I love riding horses, but no matter how much practice I have under my belt riding a new horse/mule always makes me a little wary. I did, with hesitation and ended with success. 3) Give what you were given. Countless people invested in me and my hobby of horses. I wouldn't have my abilities, knowledge, interest, and passion without them. God used someone to bless me, and it's my turn to be a servant and let God use me to bless someone else.

Go and learn from your day. There is a lesson in everything and to everything a blessing.

The Beginning

The Beginning

Some friends as a tiny sample of God's provision on a journey and dream...

The beginning of a journey and a dream...

Oh boy! This is my first attempt at blogging. Why am I doing this? As I am setting this all up and creating my first post this thought has constantly been crossing my mind. The answer is simple. It's all about "reflection". Often times I find myself wishing I could share my reflections on life with others such as college, new experiences, stories, words from God, pictures, fond memories...

So here it goes. Enjoy friends!

God bless.
